The U.S. Senior Challenge is the nation’s only senior amateur golf event featuring teams from different states competing against each other usually held in June of each year. There are both individual and team components to this event.

The tournament is a 54-hole competition. The best three of four scores per hole are counted on the first day of competitive play when teams are paired together, and the best three of four 18-hole rounds are scored during the final two rounds. The practice round is on Monday with tournament play on Tuesday through Thursday.

A team and an individual champion will be identified along with a Senior and Super Senior Payout.

Entry: $890 Per Player

• Includes four rounds of golf, golf cart, range balls, CMOY Dinner and activities such as closest to the hole and putting contest, prize money/trophies

• Typically 75 – 100 players participating

The U.S. Senior Challenge was founded in 1985 by John Morrell of Charlotte, N.C. A two-time Carolina Senior Champion and five time Southern Senior Champion, Morrell laid the foundation for the event which has since matured to the following organization:

Sun Country Amateur Golf Association

In Sept. 2015, the USSC Board of Directors voted to hand over operational duties of the USSC to the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association.  As of the conclusion of the 2016 event, the operational duties have transitioned to the SCAGA who have assumed operations alongside the USSC B.O.D.
