The Challenge Cup is an annual event that features a team of 16 SCAGA Members and 16 SCPGA Professionals. Teams are made up of 12 regular/junior members and four seniors (ages 50+).
SCAGA will make good faith effort to include the following on the team: At least two mid-amateurs, at least two juniors, at least one woman, & one captain’s pick made by TCC and SCAGA Staff.
Format of Play
36 holes over the course of one day including team matches in the morning and singles matches in the afternoon
Team Play
Front Nine — Modified Alternate Shot, match play. Both players hit drive, then alternate remainder of shots, for one team score.
Back Nine — Four-ball match play
Scoring — Three points available for match: One point for front nine, one point for back nine, one point for overall
Individual Match Play
Scoring — Three points available for match: One point for front nine, one point for back nine, one point for overall
Shorter tees are in effect for seniors and women

To nurture the relationship between the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association and the Sun Country PGA with a friendly, Ryder Cup style competition.
How
Top four of the Senior in the Challenge Cup Points formula are targeted along with the Top 11 Regular Players, and Top Woman. The points are based off of the SCAGA Player of the Year System.
